Sample Diet Menu for The Detox Diet

Here is a sample diet menu for the detox diet.

When you follow a detox diet, the kinds of food and drink you can have is going to be very restricted for 2-4 weeks.

During this time you'll eat and drink things that will flush built up toxins out of your system and will jump start cellular renewal.

First thing in the morning have juice with a lemon half or any kind of citrus fruit mixed in with 8oz of warm water.

Then have another glass of 8oz of water and add 1 tablespoon ground flax seeds mixed into it.

For breakfast it can be any type of organic fruit, should be raw. Make a smoothie of:

1 banana
1/2 papaya
1 pear
1/2 cup strawberries
6 grapes

Mix this with 3/8 cup of unsweetened juice and a tablespoon of honey. All ingredients should be organic.

Midmorning 1 cup herbal tea (nettle's good for flushing out the toxins and easing your stiff joints) followed up by a lunch which can be a big fresh salad with lot of organic vegtables or some fresh ogranic fruit.

Midafternoon can be thyme tea which is a great pick me up!

Dinner is some organic fruit or a nice big salad with organic vegetables.

Chamomile tea is very relaxing before bed.

The next sample diet menu we have is a vegetarian menu and this will show how easy it is to get essential fatty acids into your diet every day.

Breakfast:

1 bagel and 2 teaspoons margarine (vegan), 1 orange, a cup of Cheerios with a cup of soy milk.

Lunch:

Hummus sandwich made with 3/4 cups chickpeas with 2 teaspoons tahini (this is a sandwich spread of ground sesame seeds) put this on 2 pieces of whole wheat bread along with 3 tomato slices and half of an avocado sliced.

Dinner:

A cup of cooked pasta along with a quarter cup of marinara sauce, a third cup of carrot sticks, a cup of cooked broccoli and a whole wheat roll.

Snack:

Half cup of almonds and a cup of soy milk.
